if you are user of eBay, you've surely heard about the massive data breach that put 145 million people at risk. The company advises users to change their passwords, with emails sent in the last days. Of course, the messages come a little later, due to the mailserver workload, but they come.
But because phishing attacks are waning, you should be careful with all the emails you receive. All the more if your email is on the list of emails that have leaked. The messages coming from eBay report:
"Important - eBay Password Reset Required" and message comes from address ebay@reply1.ebay.com .
A fairly large message explains the situation and why it is necessary to change your password immediately. Email is signed by Devin Wenig, eBay purchaser.
The most important thing you should be aware of for this message is that it does not contain any kind of link that links to a company website. In fact, Wenig deliberately asks for opening a new eBay page to change your password. If you see that the message contains a link, it has not come from the company but from someone trying to steal your password.
