The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), a UK privacy watchdog, issued a warning for citizens using surveillance cameras with the default settings, stating that it is not a safe practice. The devices have not been compromised in any way, but access is possible because the owners have not changed the default name user and the code access.
ICO does not give the name of the site, but it seems they are talking about the same website we had denounced in our previous article.
insecam.com was created specifically to raise awareness about the dangers of using devices with their default settings. The administrators of the website mention in the FAQ that a simple request is enough to remove the camera of an interested party from the base their data.
