The USA and the EU have regulations that don't allow you to fly your drone above ~150 meters. Someone in the Netherlands decided to ignore the law and test flight at 3.400 meters.
The anonymous owner drone originally posted on YouTube the footage he shot, saying he attempted to break the world record with a DJI Phantom 2. His video soon came out except mode, and now it's back to vidme service. You can watch here:
The 4-minute video shows the drone's ascent all the way to 3,4 kilometers above the ground. At this altitude, the drone is flying above a layer of clouds. With only 27% battery, the operator decided to begin the descent back to Earth. At the time of landing it had only 4%.
