It started when the Titanfall development team expressed the need for a software patch that would make the controller's analog sticks more accurate. According to statements by the head Respawn Entertainment's Titanfall developer Justin Hendry told The Verge his team worked with Microsoft to improve Xbox One controls.

This was followed by a statement from Microsoft, according to which the controller will be upgraded through the February upgrade package. The upgrade will happen automatically when the controller is synced with the console. According to the improvement will be about increasing the sensitivity and accuracy of the controller's keys and sticks.

In addition to improving the controller, Respawn Entertainment has stated that it is working with Microsoft on the development of another upgrade which will concern the conversion of to the level of the full HDTV Standard. However, it has not been clarified whether this particular update will only concern Titanfall or will be applied to all titles released for Xbox One.
