Intel today announced the resignation of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Brian Krzanich, citing a violation of the company's policy. Chief Financial Officer Bob Swan will take over as interim CEO while the company looks for the next senior executive.
Krzanich's resignation was effective immediately. Krzanich also resigned from his seat on Intel's board of directors. It seems the company has a policy zeroof tolerance for violations concerning him code ethics and Krzanich according to a company press release:
Intel has been notified recently that Mr. Krzanich had a consensual relationship with an Intel employee. An ongoing investigation by internal and external counsel confirmed a violation of Intel's code of conduct policy, which applies to all administrators. Given our expectation that all employees will respect Intel's values and abide by the company's code of conduct, the board has accepted Mr. Krzanich's resignation.
Intel continues to recover from the damage caused by Meltdown and Specter security flaws. Such a scandal, hitherto held internally, could be a sign of trouble for shareholders if they learned it from the media.
Have we ever really heard anything like it in Greece or do these only happen outside of here?
