When you think of Intel, you usually think of computer chips, but it seems that the company did the surprise. Intel today released a social app for iOS and Android devices called Pocket Avatars. The application send video messages, and uses animated avatars to relay your facial expressions.
Intel vice president Mike Bell told TNW that Intel Labs often has new futuristic technologies that never become products. Bell, however, decided that this face tracking application was very good and had to be released.
Pocket Avatars app uses its front camera mobile σας για να γράψει το βίντεο και συνδυάζοντας τη φωνή με τις εκφράσεις σας δημιουργεί κινούμενα avatars. Οι μισοί περίπου από τους χαρακτήρες που χρησιμοποιεί είναι availablei free, and more can be purchased for $0,99 each. Messages can be sent via SMS, e-mail and also via Twitter.
While the application may appear outside of Intel's core business, Bell said the company has "every intention of continuing to evolve and improve."
