When you think of Intel, you usually think of computer chips, but it seems that the company did the surprise. Intel today released a social app for iOS and Android devices called Pocket Avatars. The app sends video messages, and uses animated avatars to relay your facial expressions.
Intel vice president Mike Bell told TNW that Intel Labs often comes up with new futuristic technologies that never get made. products. But Bell decided that this face tracking app was too good to be released.
The Pocket Avatars application uses your mobile's front camera to write the video and combining the voice with your expressions creates animated avatars. About half of the characters it uses are available for free, and more can be purchased with 0,99 dollars each. Messages can be sent via SMS, e-mail or via Twitter.
Ενώ η εφαρμογή μπορεί να φαίνεται except της κύριας επιχειρηματικής δραστηριότητας της Intel, ο Bell δήλωσε ότι η εταιρεία έχει “κάθε πρόθεση να συνεχίζει την development and its improvement.”
