Intelligent Speed Limiter: Long before we see driverless cars on the roads, we'll see regular cars upgraded with smarter technologies that will eventually make them self-driving.
In the UK, Ford has announced the technology it calls Intelligent Speed Limiter for its new S-MAX, which enhances the capabilities of the cruise control of the vehicle with cameras capable of recognizing the speed limits.
The driver can determine the ultimate speed and ensure that he will never write for speed, but when the system is on, he uses a camera on the dashboard to look for speed-limiting roadblocks to automatically increase or decrease the speed of the vehicle.
When the signalIf there is no sign or one is far from the other, the speed limit data can be obtained from satellite navigation systems if they are installed in the car.
