After two years of development, Offensive Security, creator of the popular BackTrack Linux distribution, announced today, February 9, that the first point release for operating system Kali Linux which is designed for penetration testing and digital forensics, is available for download.
Upgraded with Linux 3.18 kernel, and patched for attacks wireless injections. The first point version of Kali Linux brings support for new hardware, such as support for NVIDIA Optimus, better wireless driver support, updated tools packages (virtualbox-tools, vmware-tools, openvm-tools).
Also updated the wallpapers grub screens, it brings too many repairs to the code, as reported by official announcement.
You can download Kali Linux 1.1.0 in versions of 64 and 32-bit from the links below.
Keep in mind, however, that Kali Linux 1.1.0 is a rolling traffic distribution and you should not download these ISO if you install all the updates.
