According research Kaspersky Lab and B2B International, although more than half of Europe's parents (52%) believe that the threats their children face on the Internet are constantly increasing (from cyberbullying to inappropriate content), just over a third (36%) talk to children about these potential threats and advise them.
The survey found that one in five European parents (21%) is doing nothing to protect their children from online dangers, although 28% has seen its children face real threats on the Internet, including monitoring inappropriate content, random discussions with dangerous strangers and cyberbullying. Also, 47% is afraid that the Internet has some influence on children's health and psychology.
Για παράδειγμα, το 24% δηλώνει ότι ελέγχει το record browsing of his children, although most of the damage may already be done at this stage. Just over a quarter (26%) have installed parental software control.
"For many young people people, the use of mobile phones and computers to access the Internet is an integral part of their daily lives – and without parents always being able to control them. Our research shows that many parents feel powerless to manage what happens on these devices. However, there are many simple, yet positive, things parents can do to protect their children. The important thing is to combine practical measures, such as installing parental control software and keeping computers in common areas, with active dialogue with children about potential threats and ways to deal with them." said David Emm, Principal Security Researcher Kaspersky Lab.
The solutions Kaspersky Total Security - multi-device and Kaspersky Safe Kids can make parents' lives easier by ensuring their children are safe from online threats and managing their activities on devices with Windows, Mac OS X, iOS and Android. Kaspersky Lab software not only protects children from viewing inappropriate content on websites and apps, but also prevents the disclosure of confidential information. At the same time, it helps parents manage the time their children spend on devices with Internet access.
