Microsoft withdrew security update KB4524244 after it was found to be causing a number of critical issues. The update is supposed to resolve some issues with the UEFI boot manager.
Update KB4524244 has been released for Windows 10 in versions 1607, 1703, 1709, 1803, 1809, 1903, and 1909 as a standalone security update. It was part of it Patch Tuesday February.
Many of those who have already installed the KB4524244 update are reporting that the functional their system freezes, while others report that they cannot install it.
The Microsoft Support Page he says:
This standalone security update has been removed due to an issue affecting a subset of devices. It will not relaunch from Windows Update, the Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) or the Microsoft Update Catalog. Removing this standalone security update will not affect the installation or any changes to other security updates as of February 11, 2020.
If you have installed this update and it shows you problems, Microsoft recommends removing it.
Click Browse Windows Desktop, type update history, and select View your Update history.
In the Update History window, select Uninstall Updates.
In the "Installed Updates" window, find KB4524244 and click the Uninstall button.
Restart your device.
