Kingston has announced the creation of a new series of USB drive units aimed at IT professionals who are safe and inviolable.
The new Kingston DataTraveler 2000 was created with the sole purpose of providing top security for the important files that need to be shipped from one place to another, so that they can not see unauthorized people by accidentally forgetting the drive in an office or losing it.
The DataTraveler 2000 features a hardware-based πλήρη δίσκο, με AES 256-bit κρυπτογράφηση data and also comes with an innovative PIN code.
Whenever someone wants to access the data on the drive or connect the USB drive to a new one computer, then he will have to enter the alphanumeric PIN to be granted access.
The new USB drive offers protection from a brute force grab since it is engineered to self-lock by erasing the encryption key and file password after ten invalid login attempts.
Additionally, the DataTraveler can also be set to an automatic lock, and each time it is removed from a certified computer and entered into a host to require the PIN.
The device is standalone, requires no software, and is also made of aluminum that protects it from dust and water.
Kingston's new product comes with cross-OS, ChromeOS and Android support, and is released in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities. It is estimated to come to the store shelves towards the end of the 1 quarter of 2016.
