Mapping service Maps.me for mobile announced today that all of its apps for Appliances Apple, Android και BlackBerry are available for free to all.
Maps.me has been developed with the OpenStreetMap project and last month it was bought by Mail.ru for a remarkable amount. Now, two weeks after, Maps.Me Pro is free for everyone. The service offers offline mapping, searches, and the use of bookmarks in favorite or specific locations. Earlier the application cost 4.99 dollars.
It seems that the Mail.Ru company has expansive visions not only for the domestic market. To date, since its launch in 2011, the app has been installed more than 7 million times on mobile. THE platform has offline mapping data for more than 345 countries and islands.
In the context of the changes, the company also announced that it will make the Maps.me service open source from 2015 to contribute in this way to the OpenStreetMap community.
