This will be a trip to universe. It will be a trip for everyone: no prior knowledge of Physics is required, and the mathematical concepts we will use will be familiar to any traveler who has finished the first year of high school.
It will be a journey search: what we will be most interested in is not the answers themselves, but how we arrive at those answers. How do we know what we know about the universe? And how will we discover what we do not yet know? Our first stop will be our cosmic neighborhood, the Solar System.
Our purpose will be to get to know the home us, the Earth, as part of our own corner of the universe. We will talk about the sky as we see it from planet Earth. For the brightest bodies in the sky, the Sun and the Moon. For her fascinating story discoveryof the laws of nature that govern the movements of the heavenly bodies, which is at the same time the history of the beginning of the science of Physics.
For our friendly neighborhood star, the Sun, which provides us with all the energy that sustains life on Earth and our civilization by burning itself up with thermonuclear reactions. For planets, other worlds so different from Earth, and so different from each other. For the great exploration, the journey of mankind's machines to the ends of the solar system, and beyond.
Have a good trip.
