Microsoft today announced that Cloud App Security, based on the technology that resulted from 2015's acquisition of Adallom, is now available to anyone who wants to use it.
“The solution provides a set of capabilities to help design firms enforce a process to secure the use of the Cloud. From discovery and the exploration of capabilities, to control and protection,” the Cloud App Security team says in a release.
"It is easy to deploy, install and use and provides instant out-of-the-box features, as well as rich unlocking advanced features."
In general, these tools allow companies to see which cloud services the employees use, and then they can limit this use.
The service can be integrated with firewalls and proxies from various vendors, including Blue Coat, Cisco, Palo Alto, Check Point, Juniper, and Sophos.
When it comes to cloud services, the new tool can be easily used for the services Amazon Web Services, Box, Dropbox, Google Apps, Office 365, ServiceNow, and Salesforce.
Its launch technology means Microsoft is now competing with Skyhigh Networks, Netskope, Elastica, and other cloud security companies.
