Microsoft is reportedly redesigning Skype after complaints from users of the app that the appcase new features from Snapchat "overshadowed" the functions of the application.
Microsoft seems to have listened to its customers and decided to remove Highlights, a feature that allows users to post photos in bulk.
Microsoft's experimentation with design changes to the application "overcame some of its core features", including Skype's original goal of making calls, according to Peter Skillman, Skype and Outlook's design director.
“The calls became much more difficult and the Highlights didn't excite the majority of users. We need to take a step back and simplify the application ”, explained.
Skype designers now focus on the main reasons people use Skype. As the news seems version it will bring greatly simplified voice and video calling as well as easy-to-use messaging.
On mobile devices, Skype will have only three buttons to quickly access conversations, calls, and contacts. Together with Highlights, Capture will be removed. So users who posted Highlights will have to download them until September 30.
