Microsoft's turn to data management

During a special event in San Francisco, Chief Executive Officer , Satya Nandela, formulated the vision of the company for a "data platform" consisting of products such as Office, Azure and SQL Server.

The third component of Microsoft's strategy is the Analytics Platform System (APS) which will allow businesses to submit data search requests to any database format and regardless of the type of storage.
