Η Microsoft has announced that it will work with a startup from LA that deals with the cultivation of cannabis to create a software that will help the distribution and in general the availability of marijuana.
The application will work on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform and is designed to facilitate sales and commerce in places where marijuana use is legalized for medical or recreational use.
The undertaking is an important one movement although there is still the stigma associated with the commercialization of marijuana.
Although legally allowed in very few states - and many more for medical use - marijuana is a stigmatized product and so large companies seem reluctant to invest.
Perhaps Microsoft will lead the way with this move, and so other big ones will follow Companies by investing in marijuana startups.
