Reuters: H Αμερικάνικη εταιρεία βιοτεχνολογίας Monsanto και η Microsoft announced yesterday a partnership aimed at investing in start-up agricultural technologies in Brazil.
Monsanto will boost the Brazilian investment fund with 92 million dollars, which will be managed by Microsoft to evaluate ideas and develop new digital tools to be applied to agricultural production in the country, said company executives.
So the selected ideas will receive initial funding of up to $ 459.000 for an early development. Its owners project will be able to repay the investment loan after three years or convert the money into shares.
"We want to promote new startups in the field of agriculture. There is a huge space for research and growth," said Rodrigo Santos, Monsanto's head of Latin America.
The Qualcomm company is also allegedly investing in the Brazilian investment fund.
