Mozilla Firefox new protection for social networks

Mozilla plans to add a new specialized protection function for the monitoring we receive from social networks to the tracker protection system it already uses. This feature is under development, and will probably be released with its release Firefox 70.

According to one bug report της Mozilla, η προστασία από trackers των κοινωνικών δικτύων θα αποκτήσει τη δική της κατηγορία που θα ονομάζεται "Social media trackers".

According to the archive social-tracking-protection-blacklist.json Mozilla, the new feature will initially block trackers on domains related to the following sites or social networking services.

When social media trackers are blocked, users will be able to open the Tracking Protection Panel and then στη νέα κατηγορία "Μέσα Παρακολούθησης Κοινωνικών Μέσων" (Social Media Trackers) για να προβάλλουν ένα υπο-πλαίσιο που θα εμφανίζει αποκλεισμένους trackers των κοινωνικών δικτύων.

Firefox will display a box explaining that a social tracker has been blocked. According to the design mockup, these notifications will only appear after loading a social network page.

Firefox also plans to feature different profiles for enhanced Tracking Protection features, which will include protection from Fingerprinting, Cryptominers and Cross-Site Tracking .

So it seems that social monitoring protection has been actively developed and is being prepared for the upcoming Firefox 70. However, it should be noted that the above images are just mockups, so they may not end up in the final product.
