The utility is part of its library Mózilla InvestiGator (MIG), which is a security system for Windows, Linux and OS X.

MIG is designed to allow researchers to collect data from a large number of systems at the same time, with a technique that reduces the time to verify an incident and other day-to-day security activities.

The Masche was designed and built by a team of students (Marco Vanotti, Patricio Palladino, Nahuel Lascano and Agustin Martinez Sune) from of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The application was developed over a period of 6 months.

These students form a part of it of the Mozilla Winter of Security program, of which is to find an easy and less invasive way to transfer memory control methods.

Masche is distributed by Mozilla License, version 2.0 and you can download from GitHub , where you will find instructions for compiling the program.
