Audio and mute pointers to adjust them are in the form of extensions to browsers, such as Muter for Firefox or Mute Tab for Chrome.
However, they are managed per card. While these applications are useful in their current form, there is still room for improvement. For example, the new version of the Mute Tab Shortcuts extension for Chrome.
In addition to allowing you to mute the active tab with a shortcut, it gives you a general shortcut to mute all tabs in Chrome so that no sound comes out of the program browsing for as long as you wish.
The first thing you need to do is install the extension Mute Tab Shortcuts on your Chrome. It does not require a special license and does not add an icon on your Chrome main toolbar.
You will notice that the extension will not work after installation.
The reason for this is that you will have to enable it from experimental σελίδα of Chrome for the first time to make it available.
The easiest way to do this is to type in the address bar
chrome: // flags / # enable-tab-audio-muting
and click the Enable link on "Enable tab interface mute control" (Enable tab audio muting UI control).
Then restart Chrome and you're ready.
The shortcuts will be activated immediately after restarting.
- To mute the current tab, use Alt-Shift-M.
- To mute all tabs, use Alt-Shift-comma.
- To remove all tabs, use Alt-Shift-End
