NASA has just released to the public the source code of several software tools that uses (the list of all is huge). The set of software tools that it offers cover almost everything from aeronautics and space station promotion to system control and operation.
So the source code became public open source. NASA is the only service in the world with such experience in space, and the move it has made today is part of a concerted effort to give private companies a boost in the right direction.
It is much easier to have a base from a start from scratch.
The space programs are fully financed by the state and probably the government of the US is trying to put in the space and the private sector.
So far, there has been limited success, but some high-ranking individuals seem to be quite optimistic with the availability of NASA's source code, as it could help them in the long run.
"The emerging commercial space industry is constantly evolving, and NASA software will help new companies meet the needs of this emerging industry.
NASA provides the safety, guidance, navigation protocols and even the most advanced tools planning required to build spaceships.
"NASA software has been used by hundreds of non-aerospace companies," the statement said. White House.
