Ubuntu 14.04 LTS is a good opportunity to introduce a new theme icons and there is a very interesting idea based on one motif origami.
When designers start making original projects art for operating systems, they usually start from scratch or simply incorporate the current trend into their work. The designers of Ubuntu have managed to produce something unique, which does not follow the general trend, and which is inspired by art.
In the presentation of Ubuntu 14.04 icons during the Ubuntu Developer Summit, designer James Matthieu explained that they used origami logic to depict the various icons.
"Το προεπιλεγμένο σχήμα των εικονιδίων είναι ένα φύλλο χαρτί και χρησιμοποιείται η επίδραση του origami για να διατηρηθεί η συνοχή του ύφους του εικονιδίου της εφαρμογής" said James Matthieu during the presentation.
It is not the first time that a folded corner is used for envelopes or archives, αλλά αν κοιτάξετε αρκετά κοντά στα εικονίδια θα δείτε την αναδίπλωση του "χαρτιού" όπως στο origami.
We hope this new icon theme will be approved because it looks very fresh and beautiful.
