Nintendo stops production of its latest consoles Wii U, according to a publication in the Japanese newspaper Nikkei.
This will essentially change the company of games that seems to be shifting from the Wii U and the old one platform 3DS to its upcoming dedicated NX device.
The publication states that Nintendo has already stopped the construction of some Wii U accessories. And of course something like that makes sense.
Wii U has stayed very far behind Microsoft and Sony in the field of competition despite having a one year lead.
A game industry valued at 99.300.000.000 $, such as Nintendo, should not lose any other ground, and money on a platform that lags behind competitors.
The Nikkei publication also claims Nintendo will release the NX this year, something the company has said in the past.
But stopping the production of the Wii U, Nintendo could potentially launch the successor this year.
