Σε συνεργασία με τον ΟΤΕ, θα καλύψουν μαζί όλες οι τηλεπικοινωνιακές ανάγκες των αναμενόμενων 2.000 επισκεπτών, ξεπερνώντας «τα όρια» που θέλουν έναν επαρχιακό αρχαιολογικό χώρο να μην έχει access on the Internet.
Free Wi-Fi internet access covers the Wi-Fi wireless network set up in the archaeological site, especially for the TEDxKalamata. The Wi-Fi network covers the entrance, the canteen, the ancient theater and a Cosmote promotional point.
Όπως εξηγεί στο tech.in.gr η εταιρεία, στήθηκε ένα ευρύ δίκτυο WLAN που αποτελείται από 29 σημεία πρόσβασης της Cisco, με υποστήριξη των πρωτοκόλλων 802.11 a/g/n -το 802.11g λειτουργεί στην συχνότητα των 2,4GHz και το 802.11a στα 5 GHz, με το 802.11n να μπορεί να λειτουργήσει σε αμφότερες τις μπάντες. Τα εν λόγω access point δίνουν τη δυνατότητα πρόσβασης στο WLAN σε μεγάλη ποικιλία συσκευών (laptop, tablet, smartphone), με ανώτερες ταχύτητες μέχρι 250Mbps, ενώ έχουν ληφθεί υπόψη τα επιτρεπόμενα όρια ακτινοβολίας σύμφωνα με το ETSI.
The management and control of the WLAN network, for maximum efficiency, is done centrally through two Wireless Controller installed on site. The traffic is transmitted via a local wireless network of microwave Ethernet links to the nearby fixed node of OTE for the Internet feed.
Cosmote's mobile network was further enhanced for the needs of the event up to 75Mbps. A mobile phone has been sent to do this station base 2G, 3G and fourth generation 4G in the archaeological site. Both the 4G station and the transmission network have been configured so that the offered speeds can reach 75Mbps.
Broadband Internet in Mavromati and Zerpissia
As the OTE Group notes, in the general context of upgrading its network, it designed and implemented a specific project for the development of a broadband access network in ancient Messina.
It is a long-term project through which high-standard fixed broadband services are provided, even in difficult-to-reach and smaller settlements of the wider region.
This fixed broadband project in the area is ongoing. Today it has been completed in the areas of the settlements of Mavromati (near the archaeological site of Messina) and Zerbisia, whose residents can now enjoy stable broadband connections high speed and reliability.
