The Parliament of the European Union condemns the unprecedented and indiscriminate mass collection of data by the secret services of the United States and the United Kingdom (NSA and GCHQ).
According to Guardian, the European Parliament καλεί τις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες το Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο, καθώς και οποιεσδήποτε άλλες εμπλεκόμενες κυβερνήσεις, να σταματήσουν τη data collection which has reached "an unprecedented scale" and states that all of this is being conducted in an "indiscernible and undocumented manner."
The resolution calls on the United States and the members of the European Union to ban the activities of mass surveillance and mass processing of personal data, given the controversial allegations that such practices really help in the fight against terrorism.
The European Union also notes that the aforementioned intelligence services have refused to cooperate with the research it carried out.
