The US Supreme Court on Monday asked the president's administration Joe Biden to consider whether judges should investigate a case involving Meta's WhatsApp.
The question for the Biden administration is essentially, can they blame the Israeli group NSO for trading exploits of applications counterchangemessages to install spyware.
According to Reuters:
Judges are currently examining the NSO's appeal against a lower court ruling that convicted the Israeli company.
The NSO claims that it has immunity from all charges because it acted as an agent for unrecognized foreign governments when it installed spyware. "Pegasus".
WhatsApp reported that the software was used to monitor 1.400 people, journalists, human rights activists and dissidents.
So the Supreme Court on Monday asked the Ministry of Justice to submit a brief report with their opinions on this legal issue.
