The version ships with the same Linux 4.4 Long-Term-Support (LTS) kernel which the previous Leap version also had.
Leap 42.3 continues to use KDE's 5.8 version as the default desktop, as well as GNOME 3.20, which is also used by SUSE Linux Enterprise.
