Pidgin is a chat program that lets you connect to your accounts on multiple networks conversation at the same time. This means you can chat with friends on XMPP and watch one at the same time channel on IRC, or chats on Facebook Messanger.

Pidgin is compatible with the following chat networks: Jabber / XMPP, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, IRC, Novell GroupWise Messenger, Lotus Sametime, SILC, SIMPLE and Zephyr. It can support many more networks with addons. Virtually the app can connect you to any existing chat network as long as you add it suitable addon (plugin).
The Pidgin application is constantly evolving. Releases are usually frequent and come from user contributions such as bug reports and patches.
Pidgin is free and contains no advertisements. All our code is open source and available under GNU General Public License. This means that you can download the Pidgin app code and modify it according to your needs, as long as you publish your changes for everyone to benefit from.
