Most of you are probably not familiar with Pidgin, although you should be. You are going to free, open code, program that runs in Windows, linux, Ubuntu, MacOSX και μπορεί να σας μαζέψει όλες τις chat εφαρμογές σας σε μία.
So it accepts data from chat networks AIM, ICQ, Google Talk, Jabber/XMPP, MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, IRC, Novell GroupWise Messenger, Lotus Sametime, SILC, SIMPLE, MXit, MySpaceIM, and Zephyr so you have them all in a single window. And in addition with her installation a plugin also accepts the skype network.
But besides the ease of having all the chat rooms in a program, it speaks Greek and is overly secure since it is open source, and has third party plugins which increase its safety. An example is the OTR (Off the record messaging) plugin which encrypts all your conversations between you and one of your contacts resulting in the intermediary (say the google chat) to view encrypted text.
At new version 2.10.8 Pidgin fixes about 20 user comments, and makes several improvements. Some problem with Facebook chat when it comes through XMPP has not been fixed but our company urges us to wait a little longer.
