The Recording Industry Association of America better known as the RIAA has asked BitTorrent to help fight piracy of its members' content, Billboard reports.
In a letter to BitTorrent CEO Eric Kilnker, RIAA executive vice president Brad Buckles accused the company ότι είναι “η πηγή του λογισμικού που χρησιμοποιείται κατά κύριο λόγο για τις παραβιάσεις.”
Brad Buckles says BitTorrent software "facilitated about 75 percent of the more than 1,6 million torrents of RIAA member projects in the United States, according to a letter sent in 2014."
The letter includes a list of hashes of files containing projects by RIAA members such as Michael Jackson and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
He added that the RIAA is "willing to cooperate in a hash sharing process with BitTorrent, Inc. on a regular basis, so that BitTorrent, Inc. be able to use the information to prevent further breaches. "
Please note that BitTorrent Inc. is behind the popular uTorrent program.
