Yes Salix 14.2 Xfce Edition RC1 is here. THE Developer of Salix, Giorgos Vlachavas has announced the release and immediate availability for testing of the first and probably the last RC version of the upcoming Salix 14.2 Xfce Edition.
SalixOS is a friendly version of the legendary Slackware. It has the simplicity and stability of Slackware, but it has many graphical tools that will make your life easier.
Salix 14.2 Xfce Edition Release Candidate 1 came two months after the beta release, and includes several improvements as well as new features. We should mention that the final version of the distribution is expected to appear towards the end of the month.
The new features include two new in-house tools, GUEFI, a graphical boot manager for UEFI 64-bit systems (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface).
The tool comes to help users edit, remove, or create new startup entries in UEFI.
Together with GUEFI, GTKRepoSetup, a graphical user interface (GUI) for the reposetup command line tool, is being launched for the first time.
Salix OS project developer George Vlahavas says that "I don't think there is any other distribution with something similar" and of course GUEFI means.
