Microsoft announced a while ago that a version was released preview(Preview) for the “next generation” Skype, which completely changes the application.
The new Skype preview app was initially released only for Android, but the company promised that it will soon be released for iOS, Windows and Mac OS X. The new app, according to the company, "aims to create, reproducetreatment, sharing and in general to "do more" with the users who use it.
Note: The Skype preview for Android is only available at the following countries: United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Philippines and Pakistan.
Microsoft describes the new application in the following way on the Skype blog.
"Rebuilt from scratch, the new Skype incredibly improves the ways you can connect with your loved ones and, of course, your conversations. We've made group chats more vibrant, expressive, and more importantly personalized so you can chat the way you want.
The new ones possibilities that Microsoft has added are options to choose a color and customize it in the app's UI, the new react feature with emoticons in chats or video calls, and the new highlights feature that lets you create a folder of photos and videos, and share them easily.
There is also a new shooting mode that instantly opens the camera when you turn it on. You can use it to take photos or videos, add text to them, or place emoticons on them before sharing them with others.
Another new feature is the search panel that is backed up by add-ons and bots to give you information from various sources.
