Slackware Linux 15.0 Beta has just been released

Patrick Volkerding announced that the development branch of Slackware Linux (also known as "Current") has reached "beta" status:

"I will call it beta, although there is still no solution to the 32-bit MariaDB command issue. There will be soon. There were no problems with the official version of GCC 10.3. Report any new (or old) issues in the LQ Slackware forum. Enjoy! ”

The latest changelog entries show several updates, including one ς στον Linux kernel 5.10.29 (από προεπιλογή. Ο νεότερος πυρήνας 5.11.13 είναι διαθέσιμος στο αποθετήριο “”) and GCC 10.3.0.

The new version also brings some security fixes for dnsmasq and irssi. All KDE packages have been upgraded. That's how it is is now in version 5.21.4 and KDE Applications in version 5.81.0.

Thunderbird has also been upgraded due to recent security issues.

As always, the Slackware distribution does not provide official ISO tests, but interested in installing and testing it can download Eric Hameleers's unofficial installation DVD or installation mini (made from Slackware's "Current" tree updated daily):

Mention that the distribution is the oldest in circulation.
