Η Sony officially presented it Digital Paper, a device intended for use by lawyers, educators and entrepreneurs, aspiring to replace the use of paper.
For the development of Digital Paper, Sony has collaborated with Worldox, which specializes in document management. The end result is an 13,3 diagonal screen display device that lets you view a PDF document in full size without moving or zooming for better viewing, as is the case with smaller size tablets.
Another important advantage of the device is the fact that it reduces the need printings, copying, sharing and transferring paper documents, thus saving valuable resources.
The Digital Paper weighs about 357 grams and offers the user a touchscreen, stylus to insert data and notes, high contrast 1200 x 1600 pixel resolution, no backlight and E Ink Mobius technology. The device can be used comfortably under any lighting conditions.
Η συσκευή διαθέτει δυνατότητα ασύρματης δικτύωσης, μέσω Wi-Fi, κάτι που σημαίνει ότι έγγραφα σε ψηφιακή μορφή μπορούν να «φορτωθούν» σε έναν server and then distributed to interested users. The built-in storage space amounts to 4GB while there is also a slot for placing an additional SD memory card.
Additionally, according to Sony, the Digital Paper's battery can last up to three weeks, and it can be charged using a standard charger or USB cable.
The device will be available from next May at $ 1.100. Finally, it is worth noting that the original of the device had been presented since last May, which was given for testing and evaluation at three Japanese universities.
