Sony is gearing up to release the Ultra on April 4th, a new one service streaming. If you're planning on watching 4K movies on Ultra, you might want to prepare your wallet.
Sony will charge its customers with 30 dollars for streaming a movie at 4K.
According to Buzzfeed, the initial repertoire will include movies like 'The Walk,' 'Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon,' and 'Ghostbusters.' Generally around 40-50 movies will be available at the launch of the new service and you will have to pay $30 to be able to store them in Sony's new UltraViolet cloud.
Let us mention that 30 dollars is approximately the cost of two moviesgraphics of tickets in large urban areas like New York - or two tickets and popcorn in smaller towns.
The Ultra service will be available on Sony 4K Android TVs. The service will also offer TV shows, but Sony has not yet revealed how much it will charge per episode. Considering the price set per movie, we should expect a pretty hot price for 4K and HDR streaming.
