How to Disable Live Video Notifications on Facebook

Facebook Live video is currently in beta and accessible by a limited number of users. But all other mere mortal users can see these transmissions.

Facebook videos video

So every time a page or a friend you follow on Facebook begins to broadcast one Live video (and if it belongs to the testing team) you will receive a notification so you can watch it.

In addition, Facebook thinks that you are interested in watching various videos around the world and thus automatically suggests what it thinks is suitable for you. The point is that live video is not yet refined, it is under , and so many people don't care to see them and get annoyed by the constant notifications, whether they're from friends or strangers suggested by Facebook.

The good news is, Facebook has a setting to disable these alerts. Below you can see how.

1. Connect to your Facebook and click the drop-down arrow next to the lock button in the upper right corner of the title bar. Select “Settings” from the menu that opens.

2. In Settings, click "Notifications" in the left column. Notification Settings lets you customize what events you receive notifications for.

3. Click the "Edit" button next to the "On Facebook" setting.

The "Disable suggestions" option will prevent Facebook from suggesting live videos for you to watch, but will still notify you when a friend or page you follow makes a broadcast. The option "Disable all" we think is quite clear.

You do not have the ability to turn off notifications at for mobile phones, but we suspect that soon the regulation will be extended to them as well.
