Tencent said on Friday that the messaging app WeChat (currently has over 600 million users) was breached by hackers who exploited a security flaw.
After a preliminary investigation, the company said that no money was stolen from the TenPay eWallets, which allowed users in China to purchase goods and services directly through the application.
"A security flaw was recently discovered and is affecting iOS users running WeChat in version 6.2.5."
"The defect, which is based on an external hack attempt, has been repaired and will not affect users who will upgrade to version 6.2.6, which is available today in the App Store," said Tencent.
In late August, British police warned of scams on the app that were trying to trick users into buying gift cards in exchange for sex services offline.
Also worrying is the fact that there are too many videos and online posts about how you can violate We Chat accounts.
So if useste application, it would be a good idea to update to the latest version released for iOS from the link below.
