Microsoft today released the Windows Insider Preview of the Windows 10 Build 17758 for Windows Insiders who watch the Slow Ring. The same version was released for Insiders registered to the Fast Ring last Wednesday and nothing but fixes.
One of the changes worth mentioning marks the start of development of the final version of Windows 10 October 2018 Update to be released to the public in early October.
The change log published by the company he says:
The watermark in the lower right corner of the desktop is no longer present in this build. This does not mean this is the final build as we are not done yet. We have started the final phase control to the code to prepare for final release.
The development of Windows 10 October 2018 Update will be completed this month, and Windows Insider registered will have RTM build first in the next two weeks.
The public release of the operating system will begin in October and will take place gradually, for many and various reasons. The first one the company mentions is overloading servers that distribute the update.
The second reason that is not mentioned so often is that controlled distribution gives repair time to the "final" version of Windows, as developers have feedbacks from more (daring) users.
As with any Microsoft release, it is a good idea to wait before installation, especially in production systems.
Let's not forget that Windows as a Service is a constantly evolving version of the Microsoft operating system…
