On May 18, Microsoft officially confirmed that users can download the Windows 10 21H1 update if they use any of the existing tools:

  • Via Windows Update, but it will probably be delayed because the update is released gradually.
  • Update Assistant (to upgrade the existing installation)
  • Media Creation Tool (for upgrading the existing installation or for a new installation with version 21H1)
  • Installation image (.ISO).

The May 2021 Update is not a big release and there is nothing essential for the end user.

As we've been mentioning in the changelog for a while now, the Windows 10 21H1 features are aimed at enterprise customers and those using Windows Hello with multiple cameras.

In other words, there's no reason to install this feature update today. The only change you'll notice is the new OS version and build numbers.
