Yesterday we introduced some of Terry Myerson's excuses that he posted on the Microsoft blog trying to respond to all Windows 10 privacy violations.
While the 99% of Myerson's publication explains how Microsoft collects user information without violating their privacy, there is also a small report that explains how telemetry services work in current versions of Windows 10.
In the "Data security and reliability" section Myerson discloses the type of data collected from our computers (device ID, device type, and failure data software και λειτουργικού) και αποστέλλεται αυτόματα με την εταιρεία. Ο υπεύθυνος του τμήματος ανάπτυξης των Windows ανέφερε ότι δεν συλλέγονται άλλες προσωπικές πληροφορίες, όπως όνομα, address email and account numbers.
Myerson also mentions.
"The future ones updates of versions enterprise products that will be released later this year will allow enterprise customers to turn off telemetry, but we do not recommend it.”
This means that enterprise enterprises will have full control over the data they agree to share, while consumers running Windows 10 Home or Pro versions will have no choice but to send their data to Microsoft. (unless of course using different methods of blocking telemetry).
Obviously, this is not fair for consumers, who expect to have full control over their data.
Myerson did not give any further information on when the update will be released to allow telemetry to be turned off in Windows 10 Enterprise.
