Microsoft released Windows 10 in July of 2015. Initially, the operating system was completely free of charge to any user of older Microsoft operating systems (Windows 7 and 8.1).
The only condition for upgrading from the company was to take place in the first 12 months.
Why the premise of 12 first months?
Of course Microsoft wanted to catch up with the over-optimistic goal it had set, and wanted Windows 10 on a billion devices by the time 2017. This of course has not happened, and while the free operating system offering has expired since July of 2016, Microsoft is still allowing users to upgrade to Windows 10 at no extra charge if they use accessibility features on Windows 7 or 8.1.
The most interesting thing is that this particular method free upgrades on Windows 10 included absolutely no control over users' computers, so even if they didn't have accessibility features enabled, the free upgrade proceeded normally.
This offer is supposed to end shortly after July of 2016, but for some reason (guess) Microsoft has decided to keep it and run it for much longer.
However, as we reported back in October, Microsoft has finally announced that it will stop distributing Windows 10 for free this way on December 31st, and is reporting on σελίδα upgrade:
"The upgrade offer expires on 31 December 2017."
This means according to the company that the vacancy that allowed free upgrades to all the procrastinators will no longer be available from 1 in January.
So if you want to upgrade to Windows 10 for free, you better do it in the next few days.
