Microsoft revealed yesterday that it will stop supporting the old ones builds των Windows 10 που είχε διαθέσει μέσω του προγράμματος Windows Insider. Αυτό πρακτικά σημαίνει ότι οι Appliances installed will be unable to start.
The company's Windows Insider program is designed to give company customers the opportunity to test the new versions of the Windows 10 operating system before they are available from the fixed channel. So, by collecting test data, Microsoft can fix problems and modify various features.
Insiders can of course upgrade to the next build when it is available. Here we should mention that all builds addressed to Insiders have an expiration date.
The idea is not entirely new. Last year, Microsoft announced it would block the old versions of Windows Insider from the boot.
But it seems the company manages the expiration of licenses different in Windows retail versions. It usually displays a black background on the desktop, a notification, and restarts every hour.
This does not mean that the operating system cannot be used anymore. Microsoft will not stop "expired" Windows 10 test builds at the exact moment they expire. The company will use a tiered approach to give the users and system administrators enough time to upgrade to a new version of Windows 10 from the Windows Insider program.
The method has the following steps:
15 September 2016: build termination alerts will start appearing in "really old versions of Insider Preview".
1 October 2016: the computers running these old builds will start restarting every three hours automatically.
15 October 2016: End of operating. Computers will stop booting in the operating system.
You can check the end date of the Windows version of your computer as follows:
Press Win + R, type winver and Enter.
The window that opens will indicate the expiration date.
