Following his announcement last month, the Facebook started making the 360-degree photo support feature available to the public. Once the feature is rolled out to you, you'll be able to upload 360-degree images just like you do regular photos.
Facebook says you can simply upload panoramic photos from phone you – or take a photo with a proper 360 app or camera (like the Ricoh Theta S) and then upload it as you would any other image.
The images will appear as 360 cartoons in your friends' feed, to show that anyone who wants can play with them.
It is unknown at this time what he meant by "panoramic." It means photos that we can see from all angles, or it will just allow a partial view.
The company states that you will be able to watch 360 photos with VR devices. If you have, say, a Samsung smartphone and a Gear VR device, you can click "View in VR" in the upper left corner to see the image in 360 degrees.
Currently the new feature doesn't yet support Google Cardboard, which is a much more accessible device, but let's hope it's just theme time.
