The suffix -technically known as generic Top Level Domain, generic top level domain name - created after agreement of the local governmentof Berlin and ICANN, the American organization for assigning names and numbers on the Internet. After Berlin, cities such as London, Paris, New York, Johannesburg and Nagoya will also get their own suffixes. .london will be available from April.
The .berlin ending will cost between 30 and 60 Euros per year and is expected to raise approximately 500.000 euros in the first year. It was managed by dotBerlin.
