PPC attempt at financial fraud

The Electronic Crime Prosecution Directorate informs its citizens - users Internet for attempting to defraud them financially

Makes online postings of alleged investments in cryptocurrencies and other investments productfrom famous - internationally renowned persons

Στη Διεύθυνση Δίωξης Ηλεκτρονικού Εγκλήματος καταγγέλλονται το τελευταίο διάστημα περιπτώσεις διεθνούς απάτης που αφορά υποτιθέμενες επενδύσεις σε κρυπτονομίσματα και άλλα επενδυτικά products από διάσημα – διεθνούς φήμης πρόσωπα (πολιτικοί, ηθοποιοί, τραγουδιστές, επιχειρηματίες κλπ).

In particular, the fraud is manifested by posting false news, accompanied by similar audiovisual material, allegedly derived from the electronic publication of reputable newspapers and websites, in which the aforementioned persons are said to have invested in cryptocurrencies and other investment products while making a big profit.

Readers are then encouraged to do the same by entering their personal data on the supposed investment platforms whose ultimate goal is financial fraud.

Following the above, the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate proposes to the citizens - internet users the following:

• Check the validity of investment program posts, even when reputable individuals are featured, as this aims to convince online users of the credibility of the featured.
• Be especially careful when browsing the internet and especially when it comes to investing in very high and attractive returns.
• Do not open e-mail s or advertisements that come from people we don't know or expect.
• To remain wary when approached by phone or e-mail by people from investment companies abroad and no longertwowith our money on services without being absolutely sure of their reliability.
• Have reservations if the offer seems too good to be true, as well as reservations if it is genuine. We think twice before we click. # ThinkB4UClick
