Seven years after HTTPS was added to productGoogle has now turned its attention to Blogger (or Blogspot).
The blogging platform will eventually get HTTPS support, as part of the company's effort to place the HTTPS service everywhere. So far, HTTPS is available on Google's search engine, Gmail, Drive, Calendar, and more recently in AdWords.
The company took this measure primarily to protect users living in countries with strict legislation censorship, allowing HTTPS bloggers to write articles and opinions without being blocked by ISPs.
The change to HTTPS will not happen simultaneously to all users, and is currently only opt-in. If you want to turn it on, follow these simple steps:
Step 1: Sign in to your account at Blogger.
Step 2: Click the blog you want to add HTTPS support.
Step 3: Go to the "Settings" section.
Step 4: Find the option “HTTPS settings” (HTTPS settings) and select “Yes” from the drop-down that appears next to “HTTPS Availability”.
This is.
Unfortunately, as Google explains, blogs running on a custom domain will not be supported in this first phase, and some blog gadgets and templates may give you a “mixed content errors” message. The error does not allow the green padlock to appear on the browser σας καθώς τα gadget που χρησιμοποιείτε δεν περιέχουν ασφαλείς συνδέσεις.
To get the green paddle in the address bar you'll need to remove one of the unsafe links from your first page (at least).
