Other three cases of suicide intention were prevented by Address Electronic Crime in the last two days
Since the beginning of the year, suicides have been prevented (126) by individuals who have declared their intention online
Three more cases of suicide attempt by Internet users have prevented, following direct and concerted action, the Greek Penalty Prosecution Directorate of the Greek Police.
In particular, in the first case, the day before yesterday (20.06.2014) in the morning, the Directorate for the Prosecution of Electronic Crime was informed that a person expressed his intention to kill himself, through a post on the webσελίδα social network "Facebook".
Direct officers of the Electronic Crime Prosecution Directorate conducted a thorough digital police investigation, in the context of which they managed to locate the electronic traces of the person as well as his residential address in region of Kalamata. After informing the local A.T. and from the ongoing investigation it was established that this is a 21-year-old female citizen. The local police officers went to her house, where they found the 21-year-old, who was then taken to a hospital for psychological support.
As regards the second case, today (22.06.2014) in the morning, the Electronic Crime Prosecution Division was informed that a person expressed suicidal intent, from conversation over the Internet in real time "IRC". In the context of the digital research and analysis of the electronic traces of the specific connection, its geographic location was immediately identified and it emerged that it belongs to a 39-year-old resident of Haidari. Police officers from the local AT were immediately informed, who rushed to the 39-year-old's house and ensured his physical integrity.
Finally, regarding the third case, again today (22.06.2014) in the morning, the Electronic Crime Prosecution Division was informed that user online game of a certain company, sent this company a message in which he expressed his intention to kill himself. In this case as well, the officers of the Electronic Crime Prosecution Directorate were immediately mobilized, who after a thorough digital investigation found that the message in question had been sent from an electronic connection in the area of Byron. It was found that the user of the game is underage and specifically a 16-year-old citizen. Afterwards, local police officers were informed. to locate the minor, who ensured his physical integrity.
Note that since the beginning of the year, the Electronic Crime Prosecutor's Office has prevented suicide attempts (126) via the internet.
