NASA's Insight delivers its first clear photo of Mars

After yesterday successful landing of spaceNASA's Insight has provided us with the first clear image of the red planet.

Insight

The landing was successful. Insight solar panels opened and supplied electricity to its systems. The spaceship immediately sent some photos of the landing site transmitted through another visitor to Mars: the Odyssey orbiter.

Although it is expected to take two to three months for all of the spacecraft's mechanisms to be fully developed, this image came from Camera Deployment Camera, which is mounted on a robotic arm.

So far, there are two other images available that have been taken by the same camera, which show how much dirt and dust was raised during the landing. While the images are fascinating, NASA scientists are celebrating the full opening of the 7-foot solar panels as it is considered the most important event to date, as they can provide up to 700 watts of electricity on a sunny day.
